Jade’s 1 Year at Success Recruit

It has been a whirlwind of a year since joining the team at Success Recruit – and I can confidently say I have loved every minute of it! From the very first day meeting with Vicki, Karen, & Joanna, I felt an immediate alignment in personalities, energy, and values; the perfect recipe for an unwavering team bond.

Looking back on the professional and personal growth I have experienced in this past year, I felt compelled to write a reflective blog piece detailing my journey and learnings so far…

My Recruitment Journey…

Prior to joining Success Recruit, the thought of pursuing a career path in Recruitment had quite honestly never crossed my mind – mainly due to negative stigma around the industry and widely regarded “cut-throat” environment…

*Enter: Success Recruit*

Success Recruit truly is a one-of-a-kind consultancy, defining its own bespoke lane in recruitment. We are not looking for a short-term fix, we are looking to build strong, long-lasting teams and form authentic connections with our clients and candidates. I feel so connected to Success Recruit’s ethos and I feel privileged to work for a business that changes lives for the better!

10 Lessons For 1 Year at SR…

  • LOVE what you do – Since being in a career that truly brings me joy, I finally understand the phrase “love what you do, and you will never work a day in your life.” Feeling excitement to return to the office on a Monday has had THE MOST positive impact on my life both in and outside of work.
  • Communication is key – Working in a small team has been a massive learning curve for my approach to communication. In previous years I had only worked for larger corporations, where taking sole ownership of your responsibilities seems to take precedence. At Success we all play integral parts in the recruitment process and our streamlined communication allows us to fully support one another and achieve great results.
  • Quality over quantity – When sourcing candidates, I quickly realised the importance of quality over quantity. At Success we listen intently to our clients’ requirements, and we take time to find that needle – this is where our expertise and dedication comes in! Other recruitment agencies might blindly send a bulk of CVs but this is NOT effective recruitment.
  • Positivity is infectious! – Working in an intimate team setting, there is a responsibility to keep team morale and motivation high. I love working for Success Recruit because we all make a conscious effort to radiate positivity and ensure spirits are high in our office.
  • The secret power of adaptability – Particularly within the ever-changing terrain that is recruitment, the ability to adapt is essential. Over the past year I have explored avenues completely unfamiliar to me (marketing, business development, etc.) – this kind of adaptability and bravery is what creates a thriving business!
  • Authenticity = Success – I have noticed huge improvement in my relationship building abilities since joining SR…with clients, candidates, and team members. Shadowing my colleagues and their honest approach to communication has in-turn made me a far better recruiter. Our authenticity is what continuously sets us apart from others.
  • I am so much more than “just a recruiter” – The job search can be one of the most vulnerable times in a person’s life, and as recruiters we have a duty of care and support during these difficult times. I am more than a recruiter – I am a mentor, a confidant, an advisor, a friend.
  • Rejection is inevitable – Recruitment and Rejection go hand-in-hand. In this industry (and in life) we must remember “rejection is redirection.” We can take so much from rejection, and the learnings only makes you more equipped for the next challenge.
  • Your mindset is EVERYTHING – Recruitment is not always sunshine & rainbows, and the setbacks can be disheartening. HOWEVER, dwelling in your disappointment will never get you anywhere. Positive affirmations and determination will equate to success in the long run.
  • You learn something new every day – As time goes on, I am still continuously learning and that is a beautiful thing! As I write this piece, I feel excited for the future ahead and where I will be in another years’ time.

It is hard to believe I have only been with Success Recruit for 1 year…as the relationships I have formed and the lessons I have learnt extend far beyond what I imagined possible in only a year’s time. I have (quite unexpectedly) fallen in love with recruitment, and that is all thanks to my incredible team / mentors who have guided me through this journey.

Here’s to many more years of success with Success!!
