Olly’s Year in Review

A Year in Review

Since starting work this time last year I have really come to a better understanding of how much of a leap it is to leave a college environment with then immersing yourself into the business world.  However, working with a company such as Success Recruit where I feel happy and supported has helped tenfold allowing me to continue doing work which I enjoy coming away at the end of every day feeling happy and being in a position where I can help people find their dream jobs.

I have always lived by a saying “never say no to an opportunity which you could look back on and regret.”   When Vicki offered me a chance to complete some work experience following my redundancy with a previous employer,  I wanted to show how appreciative I was especially with helping me at a time where my future was uncertain. Going through these steps helped me to show Vicki how I could help and grow within a team, so the offer to join full time meant my answer was a resounding yes!

Life then changed and I think it would be safe to say I did not know how the last half of my first year in fulltime employment would have been, then again I do not think anyone could have predicted it! Not wishing to waste time during the pandemic,  I made sure I used time away from the office as a chance to strengthen myself in readiness of my return. Researching marketing tips for social media platforms and enrolling on an online marketing course covering a range of subjects such as using Google ads and Search Engine Optimisation whilst also using the time to learn and understand more about the recruitment industry, encouraged the eagerness to get back to work.

In summary, something I can say without a doubt is that working with the team at Success Recruit, I have learnt so many skills that I will take with me in the next steps of my life and, although the future is uncertain for many of us, I will always feel happy in the knowledge that Success Recruit has played a massive part in both my life and my career and truly hope to continue to grow here for years to come.
