It’s throwback Thursday, which means it’s the perfect time to reflect on last week’s successful Pitch ’n’ Putt event, in support of CRY Charity!
As you may know from our previous blog, this year we have been hosting fundraising events to help raise money for CRY which is a charity that is very precious to our team member Danielle, whose friend Charlotte Adams sadly passed away, aged 23.
CRY are passionate about preventing young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families. The work CRY are committed to is incredibly admirable and we want to support them in whatever way we can!On Thursday, we invited clients, friends and local businesses to join us for an afternoon of Pitch n Putt. The teams included Fusion Project Management, Fluid Business Coaching, Rubix Ltd, Handelsbanken, Fisher Jones Greenwood, Hill & Abbott, Consort Insurance, New Homes Law, Peregrine and Cunningtons LLP
We were joined by Pitch n Putt newbies, as well as those who came to ace the course (with professional golf clubs and gloves at the ready!) Despite our different levels of ability, one thing we did all have in common is our readiness to have a great time, in honour of a great charity! Thankfully, this was achieved!
“We just wanted to say thanks for a really fun and enjoyable afternoon, in aid of a great cause too! We all thought yesterday was really well organised, plenty of beer, great fish and chips and apparently doughnuts, although I didn’t get round to eating one, and of course the best team won!”
During the afternoon, we were presented with a slight plot twist! Unlike last year’s scorching hot weather, this time round there was rain…and a lot of it! You would think an outpour of heavy rain would tempt people to quit, run and escape under shelter, but no! Everyone braved the storm and continued playing until they completed the course.
Once everyone had finished, we tucked into some fresh fish and chips whilst announcing winners of the raffle. Prizes included a signed Essex Cricket shirt, Cote Brasserie, Mercury Theatre and Adventure Island vouchers, along with a wonderful hair offer from Hairitage and a Pich & Putt Golf round.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone involved; those who attended and those who donated prizes. The event would not have been a success without you! Your time, contribution, money and unwavering presence has not been in vain and will go towards the Charlotte Adams Memorial Fund.
Psst…We will shortly be announcing how much money was raised on the day and we will also be sharing our next fundraising event (or stunt!), so make sure you’re following us on Twitter and Facebook to stay updated!
